Five Weeks have passed as it was yesterday when we started. I am so grateful to Women Who Code for providing us with this amazing learning opportunity and I would also like to thank all of those people behind this initiative who are working and helping others selflessly and mentoring them with such a valuable lessons .

During this mentorship program each student has shared there very own experience so I would like to recommend everybody to just read mentee’s journal compiled in this Github repository (link).

Learnings from Week 5:

So for our final week we talked about interviews and how an interview is structured. A basic interview is structured in 4 parts:

  1. Introduction
  2. Problem Solving
  3. Computer Science Basics/ Puzzles
  4. Ask interviewer some question

Structure of an Interview:

An interview happens within a span of 35 minute to 45 minute. In which you need to present each and every skill you have.

  1. In introduction, be ready to answer anything related to your resume, and your short 1 minute introduction.
  2. In problem Solving make sure to not to be quiet and keep conveying the interviewer what you are trying to work with as if you are going wrong then they will correct you to the path. And if time permits will provide you 2nd question to solve.
  3. Then be sure to prepare yourself with some puzzles and computer science basics as there are a lot of chances that you may not be able to solve them on the spot.
  4. This final point or the 4th point is very crucial when you are suppose to be putting an impression on the interviewer. you may ask them questions like “I have been noticing the current position at the company for a long time what are the prospects for so and so project they are working on” etc..

And at last I would like to thank my mentor Urvi Goel for this amazing learning experience and amount of effort she putted in for us for just commendable.

And thats all from my side folks!!
